SitterCentral Dallas (SCD) was launched in 2007 and has grown into a company serving more than 350 families in 2014. It’s hard to believe in 2013 we gave 400+ sitters on average 600 babysitting jobs a week. SCD provides great job opportunities for the many students attending numerous colleges in the Dallas Metroplex. SCD loves helping busy families connect with great sitters!

SCD believes in giving back to the community. By hosting educational and fun events for parents and children, as well as, volunteering and providing sitters for community events such as the Westminster Spring Carnival, U.P.P.A. Halloween Party, Temple Emanu-EL Carnival, and the St. Jude’s ‘Notes of Hope’ event. We also help at local PTA meetings and other neighborhood and social events. In 2012, SCD began hosting a Parent Lecture Series with educational speakers from our community with topics such as nutritious meal ideas, great breakfast and snack ideas for busy families, effective parenting strategies and educational activities for children of all ages.

Rachel Logan

Chief Executive Officer

I enjoy children – their innocent joys, their energy and laughter, as well as their amusing viewpoints on life! I love being able to positively influence a child’s growth, development, and happiness. Making a difference in just one child’s life is priceless – and a privilege.

As a babysitter since the age of 12, I have a personal understanding of the importance of finding a consistent, caring, and responsible sitter to care for your children while you are away from home. After all, your children are your greatest gift and finding a suitable substitute caregiver is one of the most difficult challenges for a parent.

A Chicago native, I moved to Dallas to finish a double degree in Child Psychology and Business Administration at Southern Methodist University. While there, I was able to accept some babysitting jobs for families who lived near campus. The biggest problem was turning down jobs due to scheduling conflicts. I heard from many other students who were experiencing the same difficulties. I was inspired to create a win-win solution for both students and families. From that desire, SitterCentral Dallas was launched – a web based network that matches qualified sitters with local families. Parents have the peace of mind knowing an experienced sitter will show up on time to care for their child(ren), and sitters know that they will be working for great families.

This unique concept has proven to meet the needs of both the parent and the sitter. It is my desire to enable other cities to benefit from the huge success experienced in Dallas. Franchising opportunities are now available in other cities across the country as we seek to positively influence young lives, assist parents by ensuring availability of qualified sitters, and encourage young people to find satisfying jobs and careers in the area of child development. I hope you enjoy using this site as much as I have enjoyed creating it for you!
